Fa'il Libya

Hessa Sixth Foundation held the "Fa'il Libya" workshop on designing and managing cultural projects in the Libyan context over five consecutive days, with 11 trainees from cultural practitioners with diverse artistic and cultural backgrounds. The workshop targeted emerging Libyan cultural actors — or those residing in Libya — engaged in community-oriented cultural projects, aiming to strengthen their capacity with essential knowledge and practical tools for planning and designing cultural initiatives. It focused on practical approaches to developing community-needs-based projects, exploring priorities for cultural intervention, legal frameworks governing cultural work, and funding sources available in Libya, alongside in-depth discussions on core concepts linking culture and society and a critical reading of regional and global contexts. The workshop was organized by Hessa Sixth Foundation in cooperation with the Libyan Laboratory for Cultural Policies, and partially drew on the Fa'il workshop methodology designed by Action for Hope — a leading regional organization in training on designing and managing cultural projects in challenging environments.
