Cultural Management for Musicians

Training within the Tunes North Africa Project

About the program

A cross-border cultural project dedicated to strengthening the music ecosystem across North Africa by fostering professional collaboration, knowledge exchange, and creative development among artists and cultural practitioners, with a particular focus on Libya and Tunisia.

The project aims to contribute to a more sustainable music sector by supporting artistic production, expanding professional networks, and empowering a new generation of cultural practitioners.

The first phase took place in Benghazi, Libya, through an intensive four-day workshop hosted by the Libyan International University, targeting Libyan cultural managers and music entrepreneurs.

Led by writer and researcher Hossam Al-Thani, the workshop explored cultural management, music project development, sustainable career pathways in the music sector, as well as opportunities for collaboration and knowledge exchange among participants.

The project is implemented in partnership with Akacia Productions (Tunisia) and Global Arts Productions, bringing together expertise in music production, capacity building, and international cultural cooperation.

The project is supported by the Arab Fund for Arts and Culture (AFAC) through a grant from the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC).
