TUNES North Africa

Libyan-Tunisian music project

About the program

This cross-border cultural project is dedicated to strengthening the music ecosystem in North Africa, with a particular focus on Libya and Tunisia. The project creates spaces for exchange, learning, collaboration, and artistic development, connecting artists, cultural professionals, and music sector practitioners with new opportunities for professional growth and cooperation.

Through a series of professional trainings and artistic residencies, the project provides artists, cultural managers, and music entrepreneurs with practical knowledge, professional tools, and opportunities to develop their practices, expand their networks, and gain greater access to regional and international opportunities.

The project focuses on capacity building, artistic mobility, creative collaboration, and professional exchange, while encouraging stronger connections between Libyan and Tunisian artists and cultural professionals. By supporting sustainable artistic production and cultural entrepreneurship, it contributes to the development of a more connected, inclusive, and sustainable music ecosystem across the region.

The project is implemented by Akacia Productions (Tunisia), Hessa6 for Art (Libya), and Global Arts Productions (France), with the support of the Arab Fund for Arts and Culture (AFAC) through a grant from the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC).
