Cultural Mobility

A panel discussion on cultural mobility and cultural archiving in Libya brought together individuals interested in cultural and artistic affairs to discuss the forms and impacts of cultural mobility within Libyan society, as well as how individuals and groups interact with this phenomenon. The session also explored the reasons behind the reluctance of young artists and intellectuals to move between Libyan cities and the impact of this on the cultural scene.

The session also addressed the challenges posed by the absence of a comprehensive national cultural archiving initiative and its implications for preserving cultural memory and documenting artistic and intellectual output, while emphasizing the importance of developing mechanisms to preserve cultural experiences and support their transmission across generations.

The session was held at the Resource Center for Civil Society Organizations in Benghazi, as part of efforts to create spaces for dialogue and knowledge exchange, and to raise awareness of the importance of culture as a tool for communication and building connections within society.
